Dr. Andreas Erb Photovoltaik und Röntgen has been founded in 2008. While it was originally intended only for consulting and operation of photovoltaic installations, the branch of x-ray equipment soon became our main business. The reason for this was the end of production of highly sensitive Polaroid films ( Type –57, 3000 ASA), which were used in crystallography to orient single crystals by means of the Laue-Backscattering method. Our company is mainly doing consulting for scientific institutes and universities on the choice, import and installation of X-Ray equipment and other equipment for crystal growth, crystal conditioning and characterisation. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Andreas Erb works now for more than 20 years in the field of crystal growth and material science and has an international well known reputation for his work in the field. His main interests were in the field of crystal growth of the High Temperature Superconductors YBa2Cu3O7-x, La2-xSrxCuO4, Nd2-xCexCuO4, Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox , but also crystals like CaWO4 or the new metallic superconductors like Ba1-xKFe2As2 were successfully grown by him. The methods to grow the crystals range from Czochrolaski-, Solution growth, Traveling Solvent Floating Zone (TSFZ) to Bridgeman growth techniques. His publication list contains more than 170 publications in prestigious journals. After completing his doctorate at the University of Karlsruhe in 1994, he was a senior assistant at the University of Geneva, where he also habilitated. habilitations thesis.pdf Since 2000 he is academic senior councillor at the Walther-Meissner Institute for Low Temperature Research of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and scientific director of the crystal laboratories of the Faculty of Physics at the Technical University of Munich. Dr. Erb is also radiation and X-ray authorized representative of both the Walther-Meissner Institute, as well as the crystal laboratories of the Faculty of Physics. |
